Performing

At nineteen, I joined the United States Army Band in Washington, DC and performed at state dinners at the White House, State Department, and nationwide Presidential functions. After leaving the Army Band, I played with Las Vegas headliner Clint Holmes, jazz legend Marc Copland, and my good friend Washington pianist Ramon Ballvé. Among other gigs, we had a long-term stint with the political satirist Mark Russell at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.

For eleven years I played the Columbia Station weekend workshop, which featured the late local jazz artist Lawrence Wheatley, and now features local artist Peter Edelman. I also had the opportunity to play with famed Blue Note bassist Butch Warren. I played with the Brad Linde Ensemble (BLE) at Blues Alley, Bohemian Caverns, Small’s Jazz Club (New York), and Chris’s Jazz Café (Philadelphia).

The Web Grant Quartet performed in the former Corcoran Gallery Jazz Concert series. My trio has performed at local venues, including the former Marcello’s Restaurant in Great Falls, Columbia Station in Washington, DC, and in-home concerts. Currently, my trio consists of the great Steve Novosel on bass and local artist Gene D’Andrea on piano. We play for private parties, weddings, anniversaries, and other events.
